MyFace Concealer

I've been meaning to rave about this for a while. I was dreading my new concealer purchase. I didn't want to spend loads of money and I wanted something that would work under my eyes as well as the rest of my face. It was whilst rummaging around in my kit that I thought to give the MyFace concealer a try.

I went with Fair 01. The MyFace colour selection is great. There are nine shades in all. I have the foundations in my kit and I can generally use them on anyone. There is a concealer for every foundation shade so it makes choosing your colour really easy. It comes in a tube with a doe foot, much like a lip gloss. I'm not sure I'm completely convinced about the packaging. I prefer a squeezy tube, like the foundations. I've also seen one of the tubes snap in another makeup artist's kit. For personal use I'm sure that wouldn't happen.

Once you've popped a few dots on your face it's really easy to blend it out with your fingers or a brush. The finish is stunning. It's the perfect glowy finish making your skin look really healthy and smooth. It also has great staying power. There has been very little creasing under my eyes and I don't retouch my makeup at all during the day, apart from my lips. It also did a great job of covering a rather stubborn spot I had last week.

For £7.99 I think it's a bargain. MyFace is available from most Boots stores and you can often find it on 3 for 2 offer. I think I'm going to put these in my kit with the foundations!!!

Hello Possums!!

It's Australia Day!! Hooray! My lovely Mum sent me a box of goodies to celebrate. So, it's not going to make me look beautiful but I'll feel ace after having a Lamington Lunch! Yumm!!

Perhaps if I lay off the lamingtons I'd look like this... ?

Probably not. Anyhoo, if you fancy being an Aussie for the day, just make all your sentences into a question and try this lamington recipe below.

Topshop Sisters Of The New Moon

Yesterday I was at a few meetings looking at beautiful new things coming up in the world of makeup. I thought I'd show you some bits from Topshop that I thought were really cute.

In the pic above there are two new nail varnish shades and a nail tattoo from the new line hitting stores around mid February. The silver varnish is called Starlight and the warmer tone is Crystal Clouds. They're so shiny! I only needed one coat as well, which is ace.

The nail tattoos are really cute. I love the whole mystic theme coming up for SS/12 and went with a pretty swallow on one nail and some stars on another.

I also really liked this lip product! There are a few of these about but this is extra cute with the infused glitter. It's one of those lip colours that adapts to your own Ph levels. This is very, very sheer and, despite the pretty glitter, you won't end up with disco ball lips. *sad face* It's really fun, though so I couldn't resist sharing.

These should be in most Topshop stores around the UK mid February.

Technical Failure

I'm so sorry about the lack of blogging lately!! November/December was crazy busy! I had one day off over a five week stretch. A lot of those days involved 2am wake ups after three hours sleep and thirteen hours on set. There is very little glamour involved but I wouldn't have it any other way!

I figured my poor, neglected blog would get some love and attention now the new year is here and things are a little quiet. I was so wrong!! My laptop has now breathed its last and I am without technology. I'll do what I can from my phone but we all know it's not quite the same.

I can't pretend there isn't an upside to losing technology! It also wasn't completely unexpected. My house is the one that technology forgot. I don't even have an aerial socket for my tv!! Now I'm less distracted by the internet my needlepoint is going gangbusters (see latest project above) and I'm heavily involved in a wonderful book about witchfinders in the 1600's! It's not all bad!!

I do promise to be back sooner rather than later, though.

Magnificent Eleven

I thought you’d enjoy some behind the scenes shots of a film I did some work on recently. I was lucky enough to be part of a team headed up by Dominic Webb.

Here is the link to the pics, Magnificent Eleven. Enjoy!
