Wowzers!!!

How amazing did Emma Stone look at the Spider Man premiere the other night??? I LOVE this look!!! It totally takes me back to the late 90's when Tom Ford had all of us coveting velvet Gucci trouser suits. Divine.

Sleeping In A Face Mask

I like sleeping in masks. I'll have to admit, I don't get the best night's sleep but I always wake up with radiant, plump, glowing skin. I especially like sleeping in these kinds of masks. The ones that are all jelly-esque and make you look like a weirdo ice hockey player. I like how robust they look when you put them on and how much smaller and thinner they seem in the morning. It makes me feel as though I've absorbed all their skin care super powers.

I get my Mum to send me these Nano Pure Gold masks from Australia but I know there are a bunch of similar products bouncing around in the UK now. Look how fabulous it looks before you put it on!

I had planned on showing you what it looked like in the morning but I threw it off in the wee hours of the morning and it was all crumpled up when I went to take a photo. Oops.

I don't love how cold it feels when you initially put it on but it does warm up within a minute or two. The instructions say to leave it on for 15 - 20 minutes. I have to admit that I'm not too impressed with the results when I've done that. Meanwhile, if I sleep in it, I wake up looking substantially younger!!

Not all masks are for sleeping in, I'd like to add. Things like Sisley Black Rose mask or Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing mask are fine. However, Eve Lom Rescue mask or any cleansing/purifying mask would probably do more harm than good. If it seems nurturing and comforting, then I'll sleep in it. If its active or detoxing, then I tend to follow the instructions carefully.

If you come across these jelly or paper style masks in your travels I really do recommend them. Dr Lewinn does a similar mask as does Wei. The Shiseido version for under eyes is a bit of a miracle as well.

Skin Drinks

I love feeding my skin from the inside out. For some reason, when the sun comes out these are the foods I crave. It's one downside of not living in Australia anymore. I really did look after my body a lot more before I moved to the UK.

This week I've been back on the beta carotene trail. I couldn't get any rockmelon (cantaloupe?) so I settled for a regular melon and a few carrots. It's a taste sensation and by the next morning you'll see the difference in your skin. Plus, it's yummy.

My other standby concoctions are apple, celery, cucumber and aloe or beetroot, ginger, apple and celery.

Particularly with beetroot, try to drink these at room temperature. Cold juice can do more damage than good. If my ingredients are straight out of the fridge I sit the glass of juice in a bowl of boiling water for a few minutes before I drink it. Also beware of gulping these down. It's more of a sipping experience in order to get the full benefit.

H&M Dress

Today I have a rather large meeting so I wanted to look super stylish. Lucky for me, the weather is really nice so I get to break out my new H&M dress! Yay!!

I love the cut and the detail on the sleeves. I also love that it's super comfortable. What I don't love is that it's see through!! This one requires a good, old fashioned slip. Enter M&S. Phew.

I went with pink accents on my shoes, the trim on my bag and my Shu Uemura lipstick. I also wanted some intensity and definition around my eyes so chose a Bourjois navy pencil liner. I thought it would be a softer look with the pink lips and cheeks.

Jewellery-wise I wanted a statement ring (as usual) and to keep the rest simple. My diamond stud earrings always do the trick and this super sweet bracelet I got for Christmas seemed perfect.

Jubilee Weekend Survival Kit

Things that got me through the Jubilee weekend…

I love, love, love my Beautannia Brideshead candle. It’s such a wondrous and comforting fragrance. Honeysuckle, bluebells, plums and violet leaves. Could it possibly sound more British? These are gorgeous candles made of mineral wax and will give you 40 hours of burn time. I’m not massively fussed about the new Brighton range, but this one is heaven in a glass.

This is a rather new discovery for me. It was part of my latest Glossybox. I’m hooked. I definitely want to get my paws on a full sized bottle of this! It’s Noble Isle's Summer Rising Cornish Hedgerows fragranced Bath and Shower gel. I can’t tell you how delicious it is! Elderflower tones, gooseberry is packed with anti oxidants and orange blossom and moss give it a divine fragrance. A bath in that was just what I needed after a long day of working over the weekend!!!

Oh, and the five hundred baked treats I ate at my friend’s house on the Monday clearly got me through the home stretch on Tuesday!!!
